Yoga in the Parks

Keep your mind, body, and spirit healthy in 2021 with yoga and relaxation. Breathe Yoga will help you find your Zen with the multiple classes they are offering at Sardis Park. You’ll enjoy the serenity of the outdoors and the peace it brings while you get a good workout. Classes are drop-in and no pre-registration is required.
Small Fry Scramble June 12
Ages: 12 and Under

Fee: $15.00+
Townsend Park’s Small Fry Scramble is a noncompetitive FUN run for children ages 12 and under. Ages 6 and under will run a half-mile course while ages 7 to 12 will run a one-mile course, collecting stickers along the route! Volunteers will be cheering along the courses so that all runners are supervised during the entire event. Parents are welcome to run along with their child. All “Scramblers” receive a custom t-shirt, race bib, surprise gift and a post-race party. Find event details and registration at www.runsignup.com.

Pipeline Purge at Townsend Park

Time: 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Fee: $30.00
Can you survive the Purge? With elevation spiking near 1350 feet and elevation gain of 450 feet, Townsend’s Pipeline Purge will push your body to the limit. How many one-mile laps can you run in two hours?! Relax at the post-race Pipeline party with Sly Fox Brewery. GUIDED FOREST WALKS WITH FOREST AWAKENINGS
Guided Forest Walks follow a research-based framework that helps relieve stress and promote healing by inviting people to slow down and relate to the natural world. Walks are relaxed, quiet meanders with time for personal exploration and voluntary group sharing concluding with a tea gathering. Forest Awakenings will be offering several weekend, weekday and evening walks at Pleasant Valley Park, Townsend Park and Kellman/Skena Nature Reserve for adults this summer. Murrysville's 12 for 12 Challenge
The 12 for 12 Challenge ended March 31 and we are so proud of everyone who participated! 392 participants hiked 9,532 miles in 12 weeks in our parks and on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail!

Join Murrysville's 12 for 12 Challenge! You will have 12 weeks in the months of January, February, and March of 2021 to walk, bike, or run 12 miles in Murrysville's Parks or the Westmoreland Heritage Trail. In this FREE virtual challenge participants are to complete the 12 miles on their own time. If you are an over achiever, you can keep on going and see how much you are able to do over the 3 months of the event.
All participants will receive a sticker decal and be entered to win a prize at the end of the challenge.
